Minutes of the March Meeting of Wereham PC
Minutes of the meeting of the Wereham Parish Council
held on Tuesday 14th March 2006 in
The Village Hall at 7.30 p.m.
1. Present: R. Lankfer - Chairman, Mrs. Willis, G. Clere, C. Humphries, P. Markwell, G. Gott together with 2 members of the public.
2. Apologies: D. Pickston and T. Manley - Borough Councillor.
3. Minutes: C. Humphries proposed and P. Markwell seconded that the Minutes of the meeting held on 11th January 2006 be signed as a correct record.
4. Matters Arising: G. Clere volunteered to remove the play equipment which is in a bad state of repair. The rubbish in Cavenham Road has been removed and some of the loose manhole covers have been dealt with.
5. Planning: Client of I Cable Construction of 4 dwellings The Springs, Flegg Green. B.S.C. Construction of screening & bagging building for sugar & storage unit and construction of car parking spaces. Both applications to be recommended for approval.
6. Payments: N.R.C.C. £15. 00 Norfolk Playing Field Assoc. £15.00 proposed G. Clere and seconded Mrs. Willis - pass for payment.
7. Correspondence: LaMis - CD/ROM aerial photography; Citizens Advice letter requesting donation; W.N.B.C. reference Web Site; N.C.A. of P & T Councils; Norfolk Link; N.R.C.C. Signpost; N.C.C. Bus Time table; and Playing Field leaflet - all noted. Quotations received for the grass and grounds maintenance for the next 3 years were received from C.G.M. Ltd. and R & B Professional Garden Services & Designs - after a discussion it was agreed to accept the one from C.G.M. Ltd.
8. Any Other Business: Grass area at Church Road/A 134 junction near Nags Head needs regular cutting. A large lorry travels into and parks in Queens Close and it is feared that in the summer this will damage the road. A request was made for the Minutes and all Parish Council information be put on the Church Web site - this was agreed. The Flashing speed sign is again not working, the hedge outside The Paddocks in Cavenham Road is obscuring the road speed sign and there is a loose manhole cover between Crown Gardens and Flegg Green - clerk to contact the County Council. A request was made for financial help with the costs of installing a Calor Gas tank and ancillary works for the Village Hall due to the continual theft of the cylinders - the matter is to be considered further at the next meeting when the Parish Council financial books will have been year ended. It was reported that Glazewing lorries are travelling along the highway without being sheeted and rubbish is falling out of the lorries - clerk was instructed to contact the firm.
