Minutes of the January meeting of the Wrest Dereham Parish Council
Minutes of the meeting OF THE West Dereham Parish Council held on Thursday 11th January 2007 in The Village Hall at 8.00p.m.
Present: Miss Richardson - Chairperson, Mrs. Fisher, Mrs. Berry, Mrs. Cairn, R. Drew, B. Glover together with 2 members of the public.
Apologies: M. Grief
1. Minutes: Subject to St. Andrews Walk being substituted for St. Andrews Road it was agreed that the Minutes of the meeting held on December 14th 2006 be signed as a correct record.
2. Matters Arising: A reply from the Police regarding a speed check in Station Road is still awaited. The footpath from Hilgay Road to Brooks Lane is being monitored by the Footpaths Officer. The 30 m.p.h. sign head is in hand and will be replaced as soon as available. Norfolk County Council have produced a map indicating the area of Lime Kiln Road / St. Andrews Walk junction and proving that the Village Sign is situated on County Council land. The N.C.C. Foot paths Officer is going to arrange for the hedge along the Allotments to be trimmed. The original hedge line in the Cemetery is going to be levelled and seeded in the spring to avoid making a mess of the ground during this very wet weather.
3. Planning Decision: Mr. Wood construction of dwelling - The Cottage Basil Road -refused.
4. Payments: None
5. Precept: It was proposed by R. Drew and seconded by Mrs. Fisher that a precept of £1850. 00 be made for the year 2007/8 - unanimously agreed.
6. Correspondence: The Audit is completed and found to be in order. Norfolk Police Authority notification of meeting at Wymondham on the 18th January 2007 - both noted.
7. Any Other Business: Rubbish has been tipped in Lime Kiln Road ( A 134 end). Also in the lime pit gateway - clerk to contact N.C.C. manhole cover is loose in Hilgay road / station road junction and the tarmac surface in Hilgay road outside the allotments is in need of attention. There is a deep pot hole in church road quite near the notice board near the old School. R Drew declared an interest when it was reported that Mrs. S. Drew requested permission to place a seat in the cemetery in memory of Edward Drew - permission was granted - clerk to notify Mrs. Drew.
The meeting closed at 8.25p.m.
