Wereham Annual Parish meeting

Minutes of the Wereham Annual Parish Meeting held in the Village Hall on Tuesday 12th May 2009 at 7.00p.m.

Present: P. Markwell - Chairman, Mrs. K. Newell, D. Pickston, P. Norris, C. Humphries with three members of the public.

Apologies: None

Minutes: The Minutes of the Meeting held on 13th May 2008 were agreed.

Matters Arising: Red Telephone Box - is it possible to use the Box and make calls? Chairman's Report: P. Markwell stated that he had taken over as Chairman partway through the year but he felt that the Council had become reactive and not proactive as was necessary. Drainage works in School Lane is progressing well and it is hoped that problems during periods of heavy rain will be a thing of the past when the work is completed.

Village Hall Report: Mr. Eastgate confirmed the balances have increased by about 50% but the annual Insurance premium has yet to be paid - the Bank account balances total £4086. 78. Much work is required and the actual jobs are to be prioritised - first job is a Structural Survey reference the roof. M/s Evans confirmed this has been carried out by Calvert, Brain and Fraulo and the written Report is awaited. Estimates have been received for Windows, Floor, Kitchen, Toilets etc: and their total is approximately £70000. 00 but all works are dependent on the Surveyors Report. The Chairman thanked both Mr. Eastgate and /s Evans for the report.
