VILLAGE LIAISON MINUTES
Wednesday 19th January 2011

1. Apologies
2. Minutes of the previous meeting (13th October 2010) and matters arising
The minutes of the previous meeting were agreed.
3. Complaints received since the last meeting.
Mr. White stated the company had received two complaints relating to transport & noise.
4. Noise
A complaint from a resident of Furlong Road regarding noise from the mill near the main gate
KW stated the issue had been identified prior to the complaint being received (loose chain on silo 2 top drag) the chain was adjusted to the correct tension.
5. Odour Dust & Particulates
No complaints had been received.
6. Transport.
A complaint had been received regarding an HGV not stopping at the junction of High Street from Wretton Road. KW stated the vehicle was identified from the trailer number as a contract haulier. The Company was informed of the incident & reminded of the need to adhere to & respect other road users. The haulier has acknowledged the issue and has addressed this with the driver concerned.
7. Buildings.
Mrs. Holton asked if there had been any developments relating to the Dukes Head & Millers Arms. Mr. Halls stated that a meeting with the board is to take place in the near future & he will recommend that the two buildings be put up for sale.
Mr. Thompson asked if the section of the village hall known as Wards Garage was also to be considered for sale. Mr. Halls stated that "Wells Homes" had been given the opportunity to purchase the building but no offers had been received.
8. Any other Business
Mr. Thompson introduced Mr. D Summers as the new chairman of the Parish Council.
No other business was noted.
